The Flower Power Dress

The Flower Power Dress

What could be more fun than combining a bodice of checked gingham with an overlay pattern of delicate vines and tiny berries with a full, gathered skirt in a bold floral—and tying it all together with bows of crocheted lace and grosgrain ribbon? How do MeiMei and Me dresses grow with the child. Besides having adjustable ties, they feature hand-stitched pleats above the hem that can be let down with a few snips of decorative thread.

This style is one of the three dresses I designed and made for MeiMei (AKA Lisl Zhang Miller) for her first birthday. As soon as friends saw her in her dresses they asked me to make dresses for their daughters and granddaughters. So why not have my dresses made professionally in Bali—where MeiMei and family live?

The goal: make them available across the USA at select department stores and boutiques.
